Kabaka Tembo

1404 – 1434 Kabaka Tembo, Kabaka of Buganda, only surviving son of Prince Lumansi, by his wife, Natembo. Killed his grandfather and seized the throne, ca. 1404. Established his capital at Ntinda Hill. He went mad during the latter years of his reign. m. Najemba, daughter of Semwanga, of the Donge clan. He d. at Busiro (bur. Katikamu), having had issue, two sons and a daughter:

  • 1) Kabaka Sewanaku Kigala Mukabya Kasungubu, Kabaka of Buganda – see below.
  • 2) Prince (Omulangira) Lutimba (full-brother of Kabaka Kigala). Rebelled against his brother but was defeated by his nephews and fled. He d. at Wassozi (bur. Butugu).
  • 1) Princess (Omumbejja) Nazimbanja. She had several children by her brother Kabaka Kigala.
